September 18 Abba has given birth to her five healthy baby boys today, in the sunny Croatia. Abba is the daughter of Beau Brit od Bijeh Andjela (Club World Winner and Vice-European Winner) and the grand-daughter of Aron (Veteran World Winner), a beautiful, tender, highly lovable short-coated lady. The proud father is, of course, our Solo. We are ecstatic! |

Our friends, the Skah Dakota kennel in the Netherlands, are celebrating 15 years since their first litter (A- of Skah Dakota, 6 perfect males out of Enola Dakota vom Werntal by Nando Dakota van Hiemrod). 15 years of breeding for what we consider to be the best of the WSS. September 9 Ayoka has been confirmed pregnant, by ultrasound. Not that such a confirmation was needed - both Ayoka and Sabine, her owner, knew this from day 2. Solo, too - but he is a man, men don't debate this topic. So, yes, our B-vom Hippocampus grandchildren in Germany are definitely on their way. |

The charmer, the exquisite friend, the teaser, the player, the wise, the winner of hearts.
We understand the pain. We share the pain. We cannot ease the pain, for Trees and for Geert. Our tears cannot help, they only add to theirs.

September 6 Chavier Nubika, son of Solo and litter brother to Chigo, made his debut in the Junior class this weekend. The judge seemed to have no other choice but to admit he was Excellent1 - and to grant him the Junior Winner title. Well, done, Spajky and Vladka! We are very proud! |

As everyone, we love beautiful White Swiss Shepherds. As everyone, we rejoice in our whites being awarded beauty (national and international) titles. As everyone, we stand still and admire the stunning beauty-show winners we have been fortunate to meet. As everyone, we hope... perhaps, someday, one puppy of this great male / of this gorgeous lady will come to life in our kennel.
Among the few, we have also been fortunate to have in our kennel one daughter of a World Winner and one daughter of a Vice-World Winner. Both beautiful girls, both successful by themselves, both perfect companions for us and for our boys.
We realized that beauty is not all. It is not enough. It is not the main asset, when choosing a lifetime partner - which we consider our dogs to be and we desire our puppies to become for their future families. The WSS are not a strong breed, when it comes to character. They have fears, they have insecurities and the breeders that claim they never met fears or insecurities in any of their puppies... well, we doubt very much this is indeed so.
We want our girls to bring into the world healthy, self-assured, fearless, active and playful puppies, perfect companions for us, humans, reliable individuals, beloved partners rather than helpless kids. We hope for our puppies to become the kind of a person that our Ahlitah was. We do not breed, we are on a quest. The Ahlitah Quest.
There are no guarantees, of course, but a working father is more likely to help our girls achieve the Ahlitah Quest goals. The strength of mind and health of body required by hard, disciplined, constant working are the most desirable traits that one parent could pass to his offspring. Or to hers. This is why we chose two working males for our girls. They are both workaholic, both successful and perfectly healthy, in body and in mind, both coming from long lines of successfully working dogs. Bonus, they are also Beauty Champions in countries in which this title is hard to obtain; and they share their lives with great families. They both built special relationships with their humans. Which is a must for the Ahlitah Quest son-in-law.
Gandhi and I spent a few days with Hay Jay Prince vom Niehuser Seer, his half-sister and his humans. Jay is everything a mom could hope for her four-legged daughter. A happy guy, still very young, extremely easy to get along with, healthy, playful, active, beautiful. For him, work is play. Joyous play. His IPO-1 judge told about Jay that he was a WSS who forgot he was white. I only say this: Jay is the perfect father for the N- Ahlitah Quest puppies.
Which will hopefully be born around October the 31st.

Cupa Kalypsoland, second year in a row for Faust. This year, the fresh IPO1 graduate competed in tracking. He was second!! Since tracking is not a forte of Faust, his second place of today is a huge, huge success for us.

BOB number 11 for Mahi, yesterday morning, in the Oradea CACIB (first of three dog shows in two days). This begins to matter less than the immense joy of a weekend together, just the two of us. No heating Gandhi, no boys, no working mom - just Mahi and mom and the rain and the mud and the late coming of the sun and our car and the hotel room with the big, big bed for Mahi. And the grilled chicken breasts, also for Mahi, and her small but pretty cup.

Faust passed his IPO-1 exam today, in Hungary, under a very strict judge, on completely unknown ground, with a practically unknown helper. I am proud. I am speechless. This is but the conclusion of a stage - the one just before training for IPO-2.

Another day for Mahi to chaperone Chigo - and while doing this to also be judged herself, as Excellent1, CACL, Best Female and BOB. Again, sharing with me both the burden and the joy of this day - with her beautiful, dark eyes never leaving mine, with her delicate body as close to me as rules allowed, with her big heart filled with happiness as she saw my own happiness...

For the sake of beautiful babyhood memories, he attended a CAC today - judge being, once again, the gentleman who acted like first judge to Solo, almost five years ago, and granted him a BIS baby. Today, with Solo in the male Champion class, the result was Excellent1, CACL, BOB (followed, in the Main Ring, by R-BOG, quite unusual for our breed in our country) - and an awesome judge report of my boy. Well deserved, of course!
As a bonus, Solo also took puppy Chicago to meet the judge. Meeting that concluded with another great judge report, for a Very Promising1 (and BEST!!!) Puppy.

She is a daughter of Brit (Club World Winner and Vice European winner) and a grand-daughter of Aron (Veteran World Winner) - but most of all she is a beautiful lady, tender and calm and highly lovable. June 28 Laila, the 6 months old short coated daughter of Solo, was tested for 3 genetic diseases and IS FREE FOR ALL of them: MDR1 (Ivermectin sensitivity) +/+, DM (degenerative mielopathy) N/N, MH (malignant hyperthermia) N/N. She couldn't care less, but we are happy for her perfect health. And for the beautiful life she is living, in the Riot Leader's kennel (Finland). |

June 3 Mummy Dona (the perfect Celina Nubika) celebrated her 5th birthday yesterday. It has been a while since meeting her, but her photos show her the same happy, playful, beautiful lady, full of energy and filling the lives of those around her with precious moments - days - years. May 10 Another Skah Dakota weekend, in the far-away Dortmund (Germany). Mummy Ghuna, sister Manini and half-sister Karuna were rewarded the Best Breeding Group in the VDH-Europasieger 2015 show yesterday. Ghuna was also the Veteran Winner (and shortlisted in the Main Ring). Her two daughters both won their respective classes and the Best female and Best of Breed titles, shared equally between them, Karuna on day 1 (also shortlisted in the Main Ring) and Manini on day 2. Mahi and I are proud, yes - but far from surprised. We know that Skah Dakota ladies are the best. Congratulations, Thorsten. Congratulations, Geert. Until we have a picture from the actual event, we are happy to re-live a beautiful memory. |

Daddy Solo was the first of us to win a Junior Championship (and one BOB) in Satu Mare. One year later Ahlitah and Digit won their rspective CACIBs. Then Mahi, two years in a row, finished her Junior and her adult Romanian Championships in Satu Mare.
This year, it was baby Chicago who won hearts (and white ribbons) in Satu Mare. Or should I say Best Baby Chicago (twice so, on both CACIB competitions, following his three times Very promising-s).
And we had a wonderful time. Many whites, many great whites in Satu Mare this spring. And a full hotel weekend for Chigo, with comfortable beds, city park, balcony, restaurants and such.

Quite a good Easter Sunday for Chicago. He took a little trip to Hungary, to attend his first dog-show. Well, not entirely so. He took the trip to Hungary and attended the dog-show in order for the judge to see he is Very promising 1. And the Best Baby, of course.
And to visit the donkeys and the goats in the nearby mini-farms (not the geese, they were noisy and had a tendency to float above the ground when approached).
Cherry on top, he fell in love. With and elderly Corgie.

Laila has left for her new home, in the Riot Leader's kennel in Finland. Although it hurts to see her go, we are convinced she will have the best of lives, with her new mom Eeva and with her (now) kennel mates, the impressive Nuka and the beautiful, long-coated Legra. Be happy, my sweet, because it is happiness and joy and brightness of the spirit that you brought us in the short days we spent together!

We received sad, sad news today. The green brother of Laila, First Flake (Un)Lucky, was the victim of a domestic accident, two days ago. His life counted less than three months, and the end of it was thoroughly undeserved.

We received sad, sad news today. The green brother of Laila, First Flake (Un)Lucky, was the victim of a domestic accident, two days ago. His life counted less than three months, and the end of it was thoroughly undeserved.

Laila (Solo & Fulga) moved in with us this evening. She will spend almost three weeks with daddy Solo, half-brother Chigo and the rest of us - before beginning her journey to Suomi (Finland).

February 28 At her first show as a veteran, held today in the far away Groningen (the Netherlands), the Excellent 1 mummy Ghuna won the Veteran class, became Best Veteran, Benelux Veteran Winner and was shortlisted (final 6) in the main ring. Exactly what we know and expect this wonderful, wonderful lady to be - the very best. Congratulations, Geert, welcome back to the dog-show routine - we missed you! |

February 21 Faust and Mahi attended a demo show this evening, two special whites among 43 more... colourful dogs. Faust was a bit unhappy with the surface, while Mahi flourished as she always does whenever the two of us have a common activity. One that involves many dogs and their humans. |

Uriel Taien decided. She will return to Romania, later this year. Because ours is such a beautiful country, with welcoming people, good food, with rivers and mountains and trees and such...
And with Solo. It seems he is a person worth traveling for. Yes, the next Zampa di litter of WSS will have our Solo as a dad, and the gorgeous Uriel a mom. Uriel is one of the most interesting young ladies of her age in Europe - beautiful, smart, curious, a fierce defender of her territory, a proven mother and (notably) she has a perfect ancestry. A daughter of Chantal Taien by Gringo of White Finess - her mating with Solo can only result in the perfect puppies one can aspire to. Our friendship with the Zampa di kennel, with Tijana and Alexandar, a friendship as old as Solo himself, was not our reason for accepting this mating - the reason was our shared ideals and common goals where our babies are concerned. We see this as a desired partnership, the result of which will be another step forward for this wonderful breed. |

Our last week together has already begun, although we do not know what this means. We shall take our "official" photos, we shall have our Baer test and our new families will begin coming for us. And all our ten testicles are descended, whatever this has to do with anything.

The nice, long walk we had in the morning was a facade. What yesterday was really about is vaccine, inserting cips, de-worming, vet assessment...
We have nevertheless been quite brave. We deserve another walk!!!

January 6 Today, on our 7 weeks birthday, we received a present like no other. Five black boys and a black girl - Trinity the Schipperke gave birth to them. And now there is another milk bar, open 24/7, at home. Too bad we have no access to it. |

The joy they brought with them, the sheer happiness of their daily victories, their innocent hope that the best is still to come - they made us feel young, again. Forever young. Although Ahlitah herself is no longer with us, in the few, short years we spent together she touched our lives in so many ways...
Ahlitah raised Solo into the perfect guy he is today. Ahlitah hold our pack together by rules of her own, never contested and ever so wise. Ahlitah had the grace to play with Faust while they were alone and clearly showed Digit she put her trust in him. She accepted the unobtrusive baby Mahi and explained to Gandhi that she arrived too late.
Ahlitah loved me and allowed me to love her like no one else.
Ahlitah blessed our house and made it a home.
And when she went away, Ahlitah took the best of me with her.
